Today turned out to be a nice day for bird photography.

This flock started flying while I was standing there with my camera, it is one of the biggest flocks I have seen.

I gave my camera to my daughter while I was driving and said "start shooting!" The shot was gone in about 30 seconds because the clouds were moving fast.

I left the leaf in the lower right, when tried to crop it out the clouds started to feel crowded. It also starts the progression of the clouds.

How I did the December 11th shot below.

This was the set up. My goal was a shot that looked like day light coming through a window. I put light through the openings in a mirror frame to give the shape of window light, I diffused it with some screen door mesh that may be hard to see in this photo. I over exposed to give the bright highlights. Then I took it into Photoshop lightroom and processed it for the final look. The blue and white towel is covering my bird, She does not like to stay up this late.
