Friday Night Challenge! Shoot with out using the view finder or the LCD screen.
Driving down a farm road I noticed a
Great Blue Heron standing in the road. Herons are very shy in my area and I have never been able to get close to one, If you slow down your car, they fly away. When I saw this one I slowed like normal but it did not fly away. I had my 75-300 on the camera as I pulled it from the bag. I also noticed a truck coming from the opposite direction. I knew I only had seconds to try a shot, so I left the lense on wide focus in hopes of getting a shot, held it out of the window and started shooting while driving closer to the bird. The first four shots were of the grass and the edge of the road on the right. I was left with this poor shot to prove the bird was actually there.
So the challenge this week is shooting with out looking through the view finder or the LCD screen so you/I are ready for those shots you can't plan.
